Starting Wednesday, Oct 6th, 2021
Cubbies is a preschool program designed to teach children about God and biblical truths in a fun and interactive way. The evening includes a cute Cubbies theme song, a Bible story, a puppet show from “the Farm” with Cubbie Bear, Luvie Lamb, and Katie Collie, a snack and craft or colouring sheet, learning simple Bible verses, and fun game times in our gymnasium. Children work through their very own workbook to earn stickers and award badges to sew on their Cubbies vest.
We will start this program on Wednesday, Oct 6th, but your child can join at any point during the year. The program will go to the end of April and we will take every 4th Wednesday off to give our volunteers a break. The program is free, but parents will be asked to purchase their child’s vest ($20.00) and handbook for the year ($20.00). If you have any questions or would like to let us know you will be attending, please call our Children’s Ministry Director Joanne at 647-960-3501 or email her at [email protected] Spaces are limited due to Covid.
Because of covid19 and the new variants, we will strive to be as safe as possible. Children will be expected to wear a mask (except for snack time) and sanitize their hands. They will be seated at the ends of tables, to help them socially distance. Leaders will wear masks and goggles when interacting with the children. As well, on Wednesdays, there are only a small group of other people in the building. If, perchance, we go into another lockdown situation, we will try our best to have a virtual class for the children so that they can continue working on their workbooks and earning stickers and award badges.
Cubbies is a part of the broader AWANA program. Presently, we do not have a Sparks or T&T program for children but hope our Cubbies will grow into these programs in the future.
The Cubbies Program will be held at Richview Church in our Preschool classroom on the second floor. The address of the Church is 1548 Kipling Ave. Turn off Kipling at Clement Rd, 2 streets north of Eglinton.
