The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. – John 12:45-46
We began a new sermon series last week called “The Road to the Resurrection.” The purpose of the series is to walk with Jesus day-by-day as he heads towards the cross. We get the wonderful privilege as we look into the words of Scripture of seeing Jesus—His love, tenderness, passion, and greatness. And when we see and experience Jesus as He is, when we yield ourselves to a true vision of the Son of God, our hearts will be captured by Him. Let’s pray that as we go through this series together we will experience fresh and exhilarating encounters with Jesus such that our hearts will be changed.
Each week will is also opportunity for friends, neighbours, and relatives to gaze upon Jesus alongside us. As a church leadership, we want to get to a place where each Sunday is ripe for inviting friends. We want to be a church where inviting friends is exciting! Through the preaching, worship, kids programs, and loving Spirit-filled community, we want to create an environment that, week-in and week-out, you can trust will be attractive to both newcomers and lifelong believers. That’s the goal! And each of us are key to making that goal a reality.
The Easter season is a great time to invite, and as Covid restrictions lax and the weather eases up, people you know be eager to get into new patterns. You’ll never know unless you ask! So consider each Sunday “Invitation Sunday!”
Blessings,
Pastor Tyler
