Iron sharpens iron, as one person sharpens another. —Proverbs 27:17

For many people, Covid-19 represents a small inconvenience to their regular lives. For others, because of age, health, and lack of access to technology, Covid-19 represents a complete overhaul to their lives. As a result, there are plenty of people connected to the life of Richview Church whose lives have become much more isolated over the past two years. This is a huge, ongoing need.

I’m thankful for a small team of people who have responded to this need. A group of willing servants have come together to form a Phone Care Team which seeks to be an encouragement to those connected to our community who aren’t nearly as connected lately. Over the past two years, many of us have been able to use technology to keep in touch with family, friends, and church, while others have no such ability. This team intends to make regular phone calls to people who are isolated, sick, bereaved, or lonely, to provide them with connection, belonging, and support.

First question:
Do you have a phone? Do you have some spare time? Do you have a heart for those who are feeling isolated? Consider joining this team! This isn’t a ministry area requiring huge amounts of training. We are simply looking for people willing to make that phone call to be an encouragement to others.

Second question:
Do you know of anyone connected to the life of Richview who would benefit from a regular call from the Phone Care Team? It’s difficult to keep track of everyone, so you can be a huge help in letting us know who is in need.

If your answer is “yes” to either of those questions, please e-mail me to let me know! ([email protected]) I would love to see this team grow such that more and more people can be encouraged, included, and supported in our midst.

We want to be that kind of church, where we support each other, sharpen one another, grieve with one another, and celebrate with one another. Won’t you join us?

Blessings,

Pastor Tyler
