I’ve been blessed to get to know Gaius over the past few months as we have been prayerfully seeking a minister with the gifts and heart to shepherd Richview in worship. I asked him to briefly answer a few questions just so that we could get to know him and his family a little bit. Here you go!

Gaius, we’re so glad to bring you into the life of our church. Could you tell us about your personal background and your family?
My wife (Leigh-Ann) and I are both born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. We moved to Canada about 9 years ago, and have since been blessed with two children, Marcus (4) and Sophia (2).
What has been your journey in ministry so far?
I have been in full-time ministry for just over nine years. While it’s primarily been in the area of worship and creative arts, I have served as associate to the lead pastor, and have been privileged to engage with the church community in more extensive ministerial ways.
What are you most passionate about in church ministry?
One of my greatest joys is engage with God’s people in sincere, unfeigned worship, joining the chorus of believers in response to the person of Jesus Christ.
What are you excited for in your new role as Worship Ministry Director at Richview?
I am excited to join a team that is seeking after the heart of God. Helping to bring oversight to a worship ministry is an immense privilege and responsibility. Nevertheless, my hope is that as we grow together, we can create a worship community that has a clear mission – Christocentric, is sincere in its expression and response to God, and is ultimately a place that pleases the heart of the Father.
