Hey! There’s plenty I want to update you on this week so that you can stay in the loop and continue to pray for the church.
Pastor Ed’s Final Sunday
This upcoming Sunday, Ed will be giving his last sermon as Interim Pastor at Richview Church. I hope you’ll come to encourage Pastor Ed and his wife Linda as they continue following God in new ministry opportunities. As a loving friend and a wise mentor, Ed has meant a lot to me over these past three years. I hope you’ll join us in giving our farewells. There will be an opportunity to leave Ed with a thoughtful note and to leave the church with a little treat!
Associate Pastor of Discipleship – Bob Fukumoto
I am delighted to let you know that Bob Fukumoto will be joining our ministry team on November 1! As a part-time staff, he will be overseeing leadership development and community groups here at Richview. Next week’s Pastor’s Perspective will include an introductory interview of Bob so you can get to know him a bit better. There will be other opportunities to interact with him in the future.
Worship Ministry Director – Gaius Ponto
I am also so pleased to introduce to you our Worship Ministry Director, Gaius Ponto! He led our worship service on October 17 (click here to watch on YouTube). Tentatively, he will be starting on November 15. While the scope of his job description goes beyond worship ministry and into other areas of church leadership, we have already seen great evidence of his giftedness to lead people in worship. As we approach his start date, I hope to give you all ample opportunity to get to know Gaius as well.
I hope you are as excited as I am about these two individuals. Community groups, leadership development, and worship ministry are each key to our mission: To Joyfully lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus.
As you know, we have also been in conversations with a church consultant who will be introduced later on. Another point of excitement!
Statement of Biblical Morality Forum
Thank you to everyone who participated in Sunday’s forum by either simply being present to hear the discussion or to ask questions and provide feedback. It was a very helpful and constructive time, and I am thankful for that. You can feel free to continue to provide feedback on the document (you can view the document here) by e-mailing me at [email protected]. The elders will review the feedback and refine the document.
Online Prayer Meeting
Over the course of the pandemic, we provided opportunities for people to come together to pray over Zoom. For those who participated, these have been special times of gathering, encouraging, and seeking the Lord’s face. I am grateful to Pastor Ed who has been leading this all along. We have decided to put a pause on the online prayer meeting in the hopes that prayer would continue in Community Groups, in our personal lives, in our families, and as we gather as a church. If you would like to receive e-mails about prayer requests at Richview, e-mail [email protected]. If you have a prayer request yourself, click here!
Blessings this day!
